ST FERGUS terminal operator px Group has announced a new board member.

Ray Riddoch joins as a non-executive director.

Mr Riddoch stepped down as UK managing director of China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC) International in March, having led the business – previously Nexen Petroleum UK – for nearly five years.

He said: “px Group represents an extremely attractive proposition as it looks to explore further growth opportunities. I’m looking forward to adding to the expertise that already exists on the px Group board.”

“In particular, I hope my insight into how offshore operators work, what they look for in service providers, and driving business-wide efficiencies can really help the business continue growing.”

Mr Riddoch, who was made an OBE for his services to the sector in 2018 and awarded an honorary doctor of technology by RGU last year, has more than 35 years experience in the industry.

Geoff Holmes, px Group chief executive officer, said: “We are delighted to add Ray to our board – a true industry leader.

“He is held in high regard by the energy industry and his experience will be invaluable to us as we look to continue our strong growth.”

Last week, px announced the appointment of another industry veteran, Mark Hobbs, as offshore oil and gas managing director.
