Victoria Withy, owner and editor of Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire’s only dedicated family magazine, Raring2go! has announce the launch of the fourth annual Raring2go! Awards.
Raring2go! Magazine is dedicated to helping local families have fun and to make the most of the local area – to eat, shop, visit and play locally. The magazine supports local businesses and helps them reach local families and distributes a whopping 32,000+ copies each quarter to over 300 schools, libraries, information centres, shops, venues and attractions across the whole of the region.

Victoria said, “Last year we had over 400 family-focussed businesses, attractions and events located in Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire nominated for the third Raring2go! Awards and over 3,500 local families voted for the top three in each of the 14 categories. We were so pleased that so many people took part and that so many fantastic family- orientated local businesses were nominated.”
This year there is a NEW Category – the ‘Go-to Guide Award for The Best Place to Have Fun – to the other 13 categories we had in the2018 Awards.
Victoria continued, “As a small local business we punch well above our weight in terms of reach and coverage. We are all about connecting local families and local businesses with news, views, events and activities in Aberdeen City and Shire – a true ‘go-to guide’ for all families.”
“We want a buzzing, thriving City and vibrant local towns with variety and lots to offer – and we are so lucky to live in an area with strong local towns and dynamic business people working towards this too. We are delighted to be recognising the best for families in our area with these our fourth annual Raring2go! Awards and I look forward to seeing the nominations pouring in over the next few weeks and to the Award event in May at the Gordon Highlanders Museum.”
Eligibility: You can nominate any business you like in the relevant category/ies, but it must have a registered address with an AB postcode AND provide services or products in the Aberdeen City/Aberdeenshire area to families, children etc and be one that welcomes families with open arms!
This year we’re doing it slightly differently! All you need to do is nominate your favs in each category – those with the most nominations will win the award. You can only enter ONCE – so make it count!
Nominations close on Tuesday 30th April 2019.

The winners in each of the 13 categories will be those who receive the most votes.
Our 14th and final award for 2019, The Reader’s Choice Award, will go to the business receiving the most votes overall!
