RBC Brewin Dolphin, one of Scotland’s leading wealth management companies, has grown its Aberdeen team with the hire of five additional members to its financial planning team. The hires are in line with the office’s continued growth and its commitment to the region and its clients.

In the last three years, the Aberdeen office has seen a rise in demand for trusted financial advice, as clients seek to counter economic and geopolitical volatility. The impact of high inflation on savings, the changing regulation around pensions and tax allowances and succession planning are three main areas of worry for clients. The office helps clients with these by devising robust, long-term strategies to manage, grow and protect clients’ money in the most tax efficient way possible.

A strong team

The Aberdeen team of 28 is led by David Barclay, who also oversees the group’s Dundee office with a combined £1bn of managed client assets. The team specialise in bespoke wealth management for individuals, trusts, companies and charities in the North East and Highlands, encompassing investment management, financial planning and pensions and inheritance tax planning. In September 2022, RBC Brewin Dolphin was acquired by Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) and now draws on the strength of a global financial institution to drive further innovation and growth across its regional network.

David Barclay, head of Aberdeen office, RBC Brewin Dolphin, said: “We are delighted that Ricki Garden and Louise Ritchie have joined the RBC Brewin Dolphin Aberdeen office. They bring a wealth of experience and technical expertise, which will allow us to broaden the financial planning advice we can offer to clients. We remain committed to helping more people in the region to achieve their financial goals.”
