Aberdeen Ladies FC has unveiled its new identity as Aberdeen City Ladies FC, marking a powerful new chapter in the club’s journey. The club has stated that this rebrand reflects more than a name change — it signals a fresh commitment to empowering girls through sport, building confidence, and creating opportunities that extend far beyond the pitch.

Since the recent appointment of Kim Bruce as Chairperson, the club has continued to grow in strength, driven by a renewed focus on the development, care, and welfare of every player in their community.

A spokesman said:

“Our mission is clear: to support the next generation of girls not just as footballers, but as confident young people, equipped with the belief that they can achieve whatever path they choose — in football or in life. As part of this exciting transformation, our club logo has been reimagined as the Northern Lights, representing the shining example we aim to be — a beacon of opportunity, inspiration, and unity for every girl who walks through our doors.

This summer marks a period of high energy and visibility for the club. We’ll be hosting a Health & Fitness Day with the Village Gym Kingswells, taking part in the Tall Ships Event alongside Aberdeen Sports Village, and continuing our specialised Bodbox training sessions to enhance strength, fitness, and wellbeing. Thanks to generous minibus support, we’re also making sure our girls can attend games and training with ease, helping remove barriers to participation and engagement.

But none of this would be possible without investment. Financial support plays a critical role in sustaining and growing our programmes, and we’re now welcoming sponsorship opportunities at every level. From kit and equipment to transport, training, and event support — we’re calling on businesses, community groups, and individuals who want to champion diversity, equity, and inclusion in sport to join us on this journey.

Our ambition is simple: to give every girl the chance to be what she wants to be, to feel supported, valued, and inspired. Whether she dreams of playing professionally, coaching, or simply building friendships and self-belief, Aberdeen City Ladies FC is here to help her shine.”

Chairperson Kim Bruce commented: “This rebrand represents everything we stand for. It’s about opportunity, confidence, and community. We want every girl who joins us to know she belongs, and that she has the support to thrive — on and off the pitch.”
