The fire started at approximately 8am today (Wednesday, January 22) in a vehicle workshop on Merkland Road East.

A substantial emergency response is on site, with Scottish Fire and Rescue, Police Scotland, and the Scottish Ambulance Service all present at the scene.

Pictures reveal the fire engulfing a large portion of the structure, with massive clouds of black smoke observable from all around the city.
