The Digital Scot is a new website, designed and created by RGU MSc Digital Marketing students, which aims to act as “a voice for young digital marketers in Scotland,” as well as giving insights, showcasing skills and attracting employers.
The site was designed, strategized and built by the group of 13 students, and is part of a live project to promote digital marketing to potential students, employers and others with an interest in the industry.
Management of the website has been set up to emulate a modern digital agency. Content on the site is produced twice-weekly, and the students also contribute to an e-newsletter, Facebook page and Twitter account.
Communications Manager at The Digital Scot, Bill Gaule, said: “The Digital Scot is both a showcase for the current students and their work on the MSc in Digital Marketing, and a voice for young digital marketers in Scotland.
“It aims to serve future students of the course which has provided the students with the opportunity to work with various digital professionals from around Scotland. These partners have continued to lend their support to The Digital Scot project and include Fifth Ring, DigitasLBi, Mearns & Gill and The Scottish Government.
“It has been an exciting and rewarding project to work on, and a great way to implement skills learned during our time at RGU.”
