Rig intake & inspection specialist ModuSpec has continued its positive start to the year, securing a series of new contracts with drillships across the Europe & Africa region.

Worth a combined value exceeding $750,000, the newly awarded work includes three projects for major operators, including two drillships set to operate offshore in the Mediterranean Sea.

Specialist surveyors will attend each drillship to provide assurance and verification of the operational readiness and compliance of the blow out preventer (BOP) and associated well control systems in advance of commencing operations. The scope will also include attending future in between well maintenance (IBWM) periods, further reinforcing ModuSpec’s position as a trusted partner for assurance verification of critical equipment.

On the third drillship, ModuSpec will deliver comprehensive intake support for a unit being reactivated for operations offshore West Africa, including assurance and verification of drilling systems, electrical, marine, the BOP and associated well control systems. Robustness of the contractor’s health, safety, environmental and crew competency management systems will also be reviewed. These awards form part of a broader pipeline of work secured by the team, underlining a strong and positive start to the year across the region.

Commenting on the awards, ModuSpec’s Regional Director for Europe, Middle East & Africa, Mark Watson, said: “These contract awards build on the strong start we announced earlier this month. Securing this level of work so early in the year reflects both the strength of our client relationships and the confidence our clients continue to place in ModuSpec’s technical expertise.”
