“We are delighted to announce the opening of our new Aberdeen office. This is a ringing endorsement of the UK’s growth potential going forward,” Rystad Energy CEO and founder Jarand Rystad said.

Established in 2004, Rystad Energy, the energy research and consulting firm, has offices across the globe including oil hubs such as Houston, Singapore and Stavanger. The Aberdeen office will serve clients in the oilfield services along the entire supply chain as well as operators and financial institutions.

The new office will be headed by senior manager Craig Jamieson, who hails from the city.

“Aberdeen is at the heart of the UK’s energy revival. We see great potential here. That’s why I wanted to come home to start this,” Jamieson said.

A Rice University MBA graduate, Jamieson previously worked in Houston, US for Schlumberger and Cameron International, where he led the corporate market research function.

The office is scheduled to open by end of January.
