Fiona Ross from Aberdeen has received the highest global accreditation for EMMETT 4 ANIMALS last week and is the only Level 5 Practitioner in Scotland for both Horses and Dogs.

EMMETT is a non-invasive, muscle-release therapy developed initially for use on animals with the technique now adapted for work on humans and is now practiced globally.

The EMMETT Technique first evolved as a means for founder Ross Emmett to treat sick and distressed animals.  The technique was quickly recognised by animal care and welfare organisations and is now widely recognised globally as an amazingly gentle, safe and simple-to-apply muscle release therapy based on an understanding of the animal’s response to light manipulative touch.

Fiona who set-up her company called Essentially EMMETT  said “it’s been a long and hard journey, with a huge amount of hands-on practical work and applying theoretical learning on dogs and horses. But it is so incredibly rewarding to witness changes in an animal condition even after one treatment. EMMETT can alter animal behaviour and without exception, accept the treatment as they sense the healing process taking place. For example, horses that haven’t accepted a rider in years or were aggressive, become more placid and can be handled more comfortably.”

Fiona added “Animals suffer discomfort the same as people, but can’t tell you what’s wrong. EMMETT helps to re-align posture and joints and brings about better balance resulting in a changed animal. Their behaviour always changes for the better, after a treatment”. She added “I often use Therapeutic grade essential oils during the session and when appropriate, as it creates a calming environment and helps soothe the animal.

An open Therapy Evening for dogs was held on 25th October hosted by Tony Sherry EMMETT For Animals Lead Trainer in the UK along with Fiona at the Urban Wellness Hub, Bridge of Don and was a huge success – another EMMETT for dogs Open-Evening event is planned for December 15th – details can be found on the Urban Wellness Hub or Essentially EMMETT Facebook events pages.
