The rankings are based on six months of research carried out by Managing IP’s analysts who obtain information through interviews, emails and online surveys.

Marks & Clerk – which has offices in Edinburgh, Glasgow and Aberdeen – is one of just three firms in Scotland to be given the highest ranking of ‘Tier 1’ status for trade mark prosecution, encompassing work with clients to obtain trade mark protection at intellectual property offices around the world.

This is the ninth consecutive year that the firm has been ranked in Tier 1 in Scotland.

Marks & Clerk is also nominated for the “Scottish prosecution firm of the year” at this year’s Managing Intellectual Property Global Awards, which will take place in London on Thursday 9 March.

Campbell Newell, Head of Marks & Clerk’s Scottish trade mark practice, said: “We are hugely proud to have retained our top ranking in recognition of the stellar work of our team of trade mark practitioners.

“Our Scottish team advises clients of all sizes, spanning a broad range of sectors, on trade mark issues to ensure they get the most effective management of their IP. We are committed to delivering excellence and our Tier 1 status is testament to this.”
