Entrepreneurs will have the opportunity to hear from a Baxters Food Group director, the co-founder of Essence of Harris and the chief executive of Cairngorms National Park at a series of upcoming events in the north and north east of Scotland.
The three free-to-attend evening events are being organised by Entrepreneurial Scotland (ES) in Inverness, Elgin and Grantown – on Spey to enable successful business people to share their insights and experiences to inspire others.

‘An Audience With…Baxters’ at Moray College in Elgin on the evening of 30 September sees ES, in partnership with HIE, Business Gateway, Moray Chamber of Commerce and Moray Speyside Tourism, introduce Graeme Morrison, European supply chain director at Baxters Food Group.
At the event, Mr Morrison will discuss ‘Entrepreneurial Thinking for Growth’. It is sure to be a truly insightful and informative evening as he talks guests through his own business journey. He will also discuss the vital role that an entrepreneurial mindset plays in business, and why such an outlook is essential for growing and scaling a company both nationally and internationally.
On 7 October, ‘An evening with…Grant Moir’, held by ES in partnership with HIE, will see the chief executive officer of Cairngorms National Park Authority discuss ‘The Climate Emergency and the role of entrepreneurship in the Cairngorms National Park’.
The event at the Cairngorms National Park Authority in Grantown-on-Spey will give guests the chance to network and ask Mr Moir burning business questions.
On 9 October, ‘An Evening With…Jamie McGowan’, organised by ES in partnership with HIE, will involve the co-founder of scented candle business Essence of Harris discussing his entrepreneurial journey. At the event, being held at law firm Harper Macleod’s Inverness office, Mr McGowan will discuss the challenges of running a global business from the Outer Hebrides.
Robert Kay, regional development manager at Entrepreneurial Scotland, said: “We aim to develop and inspire Scotland’s business minds to form the most entrepreneurial society in the world. This series of events will give entrepreneurs in the north east of Scotland the opportunity to hear from three very successful business people who want to share the secrets of their success.
“Each speaker has a unique story to tell about their path on the way to realising their career aspirations. We hope many people around Moray and Inverness will decide to come along to hear words of wisdom that will help them as entrepreneurs and business people.”
Graeme Morrison, European supply chain director at Baxters Food Group, said: “I’m looking forward to meeting entrepreneurs later this month to share my experience of helping grow a global business headquartered in Scotland, and answering any questions on the night.”
Grant Moir, chief executive officer of Cairngorms National Park Authority, said: “The climate emergency impacts on us all. I look forward to discussing our response to this, what the big issues are for the Cairngorms and the role of business in delivering a net zero carbon economy by 2045.”
Jamie McGowan, co-founder of Essence of Harris, added: “Building an international business from a rural part of Scotland, such as the Outer Hebrides, clearly its challenges. I’ll be discussing how entrepreneurs can overcome a range of barriers to achieve success.”
