Aberdeen’s Six by Nico restaurant is set to partner with prestigious local distillery, Glen Garioch, to showcase some of the region’s finest produce paired with a selection of craft malt whiskies in honour of Burns Night next month.

Based in the historic market town of Oldmeldrum, Glen Garioch is one of the oldest operating distilleries in Scotland. Its globally renowned malts are only ever produced in small, non chill-filtered batches in the heart of the North-east countryside.

On Friday 24 January Six by Nico will be serving up a specially curated four-course tasting menu, complemented by snacks and malt whisky-based drinks supplied by Glen Garioch.

Blending their culinary and distilling expertise, teams from both Glen Garioch and Six by Nico will co-host a Burns Supper like no other on Saturday 25 January. Guests will enjoy a drink on arrival, followed by a six-course tasting experience, accompanied by five Glen Garioch single malt serves.

Andy Temple, Chief Creative Officer at Six by Nico said: “As we know, Robert Burns was fond of a warming dram or two, so it’s only fitting that we seek out the best dram our region has to offer, to complement our Six by Nico twist on a Burns Supper menu.

“We are extremely proud to partner with Glen Garioch – an ancient distillery which exemplifies the values of community, provenance and dedication to perfection, all of which we hold dear here at Six by Nico. We’re looking forward to serving up a ‘cup o’ kindness yet, for auld lang syne!”

Christina Wright, Visitor Centre Manager at Glen Garioch added: “Six by Nico is renowned for applying their own unique alchemy to transform the best local produce into their trademark delectable dishes. This is something that we at Glen Garioch also know a little about!

“Nestled in the Valley of the Garioch, this fertile land has long been known as the Grain Store of Scotland. For over 230 years we’ve been utilising traditional skills to craft small batches of our hearty, Highland Single Malt.

“Coming together to celebrate our traditions and share the delicious fruits of our labour – we are sure Burns would have approved – Slainte!”

A first of its kind for both partners, bookings for this exclusive dining experience will open at the end of December with limited availability.
