Jackie Dunbar has been re-elected as MSP for Aberdeen Donside, securing victory for the Scottish National Party in the 2026 Scottish Parliamentary election.

Dunbar received 11,760 votes, representing 38.56% of the total, maintaining a clear lead over her closest challenger in a race that saw turnout remain below 50%.

A total of 30,609 votes were cast from an electorate of 64,289, resulting in a turnout of 47.61%.

Reform UK’s Claudia Leith finished in second place with 7,029 votes (23.05%), followed by Hannah Powell of the Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party on 4,496 votes (14.74%).

Scottish Labour candidate Lynn Thomson secured 3,907 votes (12.81%), while Michael John Turvey of the Scottish Liberal Democrats received 2,823 votes (9.26%). Stephen Bowie of the Alliance to Liberate Scotland polled 481 votes, accounting for 1.58% of the vote.

The result sees the SNP hold the Aberdeen Donside constituency seat in the Scottish Parliament.
