Sodexo football pies score high at World Pie Championships

Sodexo has scored a sweep of awards at the prestigious World Scotch Pie Championships.

The catering specialist’s Mince Pie at Aberdeen Football Club was named the best ‘Football Pie’ while Dundee United’s Steak & Gravy pie and Dundee FC’s Scotch pie, took Bronze awards in the same category. All the winning half-time snacks are supplied to Sodexo by Pars Food Ltd.

The competition, which celebrated its 18th year in 2017, aims to highlight the best in the bakery business and saw more than 500 products from scotch pies and sausage rolls, to apple pies and vegetarian savouries, entered in the event.

The judging panel included industry experts, as well as former Celtic footballer, Simon Donnelly and Partick Thistle general manager, Ian Maxwell.
