The catering specialist behind Aberdeen Football Club is celebrating a great result, after securing an additional three year contract.

Sodexo Prestige, catering and hospitality partner to Aberdeen Football Club has secured the contract extension after a successful 18 years catering for the club.

“The Dons” are currently flying high in the Scottish Premiership table and the success on the pitch has been mirrored across the entire club with increased attendances leading to more demand from the catering services.

With a solid relationship with the club already in place, Sodexo Prestige plans to enhance its’ product packages for match day hospitality and retail while continuing to develop the packages available for conferences and events.

David Trotter, Catering Services Director at Sodexo Prestige, said: “We’re delighted to have secured another three years with this fantastic venue.

“Having worked with Aberdeen Football Club for quite some time, we have built a solid relationship with the team there and are very much looking forward to building on that relationship so that we can continually evolve and improve the services we offer to customers at Pittodrie.

“We are keen to develop the hospitality offered at the venue on both match days and non match days and we particularly hope that we can encourage more people to recognise the venue as a great place to host a conference or event.

“Retail catering is a key area for development with the average attendances increasing due to the on the field success gives a further opportunity to enhance the customer experience.

“With a strong focus on the use of fresh, seasonal and local produce in our food, we feel confident that we can help the conference and events business at Aberdeen Football Club develop and grow.

“Aberdonians are passionate about their football team and the feel good factor has returned to Pittodrie over the past two seasons with the team flying high, which has an important knock-on effect to other parts of the AFC business. We’re looking forward to the next three years and we hope this successful spell continues for as long as possible.”

Confident that they can expand the conference and events side of the venue, Sodexo Prestige are also keen to keep up the high standards of food produced on match days, with everything from hospitality packages to pies, falling under SodexoPrestige’s remit.

A strong commitment to fresh local produce means that Sodexo Prestige will continue to work alongside key local suppliers to source fresh ingredients and produce top quality food for those visiting the venue.

Aberdeen Football Club will be joining Sodexo Prestige in its support of this year’s ‘Year of Food and Drink’. The stadium plans to host several events which have a strong food and drink focus, as well as tailor their menus according to each month’s food related theme, to show their support for local Scottish produce and suppliers.
