Banff Castle is set for a busy and exciting June as the volunteer-run venue continues its packed summer programme of community events with something for all ages to enjoy.
On Sunday 21 June, Banff Castle Community Association and Deveron Harriers will host the Midsummer Family Fun Run, a free, family-friendly event for all school ages within the beautiful Castle grounds overlooking Banff Bay.
The relaxed, non-competitive event will feature routes for different school age groups, encouraging children and families to enjoy the outdoors in a fun and supportive environment. Optional activities including a laser tag arena, mini golf and archery tasters will also be available throughout the event.
Free registration for the fun run is now open online via Eventbrite.
Jo Edwards, Project Officer at Banff Castle, said:
“We’re really looking forward to welcoming families along for what should be a fantastic event. The focus is very much on participation, enjoyment and making use of the wonderful outdoor space around the Castle. We’re delighted to be working alongside Deveron Harriers to bring the event together.”
The fun run forms part of a wider June programme at Banff Castle.
On Sunday 14 June, Banff Fayres returns with a special Strawberry Fayre edition featuring artisan stalls, local produce and seasonal treats both inside the Castle and in the grounds with tunes from the Turriff Silver Band.
The popular Banff Castle Pop-up Shops also return on 26 and 27 June, offering visitors another opportunity to browse a changing selection of local makers, crafters and small businesses.
In Case You Missed it:
Meanwhile, Orchard Nights continues on Friday 26 June with Aberdeen busker David Angus bringing his relaxed acoustic style to the orchard setting in the third concert of the summer series.
All events are part of Banff Castle Community Association’s continuing work to provide accessible, affordable and welcoming activities for the local community and visitors alike.
