This could include photographs captured en route, showing a bus ticket or parking an EV, bike or scooter in the centre’s car park.
The Sustainable Travel theme will also see the introduction of a new workshop to the centre’s varied STEM offering throughout weekends and school holidays during September and October.
The Fuelling the Future workshop will allow Aberdeen Science Centre’s visitors to discover more climate change and the impact that petrol and diesel-fuelled vehicles have on the environment, alongside exploring alternative modes of transportation through experiments with Salt Water Cars.
Younger visitors to Aberdeen Science Centre will also enjoy a special activity and story session in the centre’s designated Under-6 Zone, focused on encouraging an early awareness of how to reduce emissions while travelling.
Thanks to funding from Smarter Choices, Smarter Places, the 50% off entry will be granted to visitors upon the provision of evidence of sustainable travel to the centre from September 8-30 and is subject to the availability of the limited number of discounted tickets on offer.
Smarter Choices, Smarter Places is Scottish national walking charity Paths for All’s funding programme to increase active and sustainable travel throughout Scotland. The programme is grant-funded by Transport Scotland.
