Stronachs LLP, the full-service law practice headquartered in Aberdeen, has announced the appointment of four new partners through promotion, strengthening its senior team as it responds to positive growth in the economy.

The firm, which has 19 partners and some 90 lawyers and support staff between its offices in Aberdeen and Inverness, is one of the largest independent law firms head-quartered in the North-east.

All four partners step up from senior associate, having built their careers with the firm: Ross Linn, in corporate and commercial; Jaclyn Russell, in private client; and Bob McDiarmid in dispute resolution, are assumed as partners from June 1.

Emma Stephen, from Stronachs’ commercial property team, will be assumed as a partner on her return from maternity leave, on September 1.

The firm has also promoted commercial property lawyer Bess Innes; corporate and energy lawyers Callum Armstrong and Laura Bisset; dispute resolution team member Jennifer Love; and employment lawyer Rowan Alexander, to senior solicitor.

Stronachs’ managing partner, David Rennie, said: “After more than two years of ongoing adjustment due to the lower oil price, we are starting to see positive movement in the economy.

“Against that background these appointments recognise our vision for the future of the firm, which will be realised through the achievements of the talented lawyers we have at our disposal.

“Ross, Jaclyn, Bob and Emma each have a vital role to play in leading our service offering to key clients, while offering counsel and support to the generation following them on the career ladder.

“Corporate and private clients continue to require support in managing their company and personal affairs as the economy recovers, while the commercial property landscape offers an ongoing challenge to owners and occupiers looking to secure the best deal during what have been trying times.

“Dispute and employment law, which share a number of common threads, never stand still and the need to stay abreast of change while protecting our clients’ businesses, and people, ensure those teams have a continuous flow of work from all sectors.”

With its roots firmly in the North-east and a legal heritage stretching back more than 150 years, Stronachs provides legal services to private and commercial clients in all sectors including the rural economy, banking, energy, residential and commercial property and construction across Scotland, other parts of the UK and internationally.
