SUBSEA scanning company Viewport3 has secured four contracts, worth a collective value of £100,000, for its new remote data capture service.

Split between existing and new clients, the work will see the Viewport3 team working remotely on projects based in Norway, the Mediterranean, the UKCS and the US.

The Aberdeen firm said it had “accelerated “ the service to market due to the Covid-19 situation.

The new technique involves giving divers and remotely-operated vehicle controllers instructions for each task, along with remote support, allowing them to collect data and submit it to Viewport3 for processing and analysis.

Chris Harvey, Viewport3 co-director, said:  “Our remote scanning process is proving to be a life-line for the industry – enabling our customers to continue with safety and business-critical maintenance operations, despite the travel restrictions imposed as part of the global lockdown.”
