A remarkable gathering of 65 esteemed guests, including families, friends, and dignitaries such as the Lord Provost, Lord Dean, and His Royal Highness King Temple MacDonald Jamala II (JP), Oola Odual XIX, came together in support of the Adibom School Project. Hosted by Princess Mayolein MacDonald, the event was a powerful testament to the spirit of philanthropy and cultural connection between the Odual Kingdom and Aberdeen.
The fundraiser was inspired by Princess Mayolein’s internship at Subsea 7, where a profound quote resonated deeply with her—aligning with her late mother’s wish to uplift the children of Adibom Primary School. Determined to make a lasting impact, she embarked on multiple philanthropic efforts, culminating in this special event to raise awareness and funds for the school’s renovation.
With generosity at the heart of the evening, the event successfully raised £2,000 for the Adibom School Project. Additionally, a separate donation was made to support Rape Crisis Grampian, further extending the spirit of giving.
A highlight of the occasion was the gracious visit of HRH King Temple MacDonald, who honored Graham Guyan DL, Ronnie Watt OBE, Dr Joe Ochei and Corry Sutherland with special gifts, further cementing the bond between the Odual Kingdom and Aberdeen.
The Julie Development Initiative, which was named in honour of Late ” QUEEN JULIANA MACDONALD” connects compassionate individuals with communities where a little assistance can make a life-changing difference. JDI helps raise funds and garner support for people in dire need of essential amenities and sustainable community development projects.
