Swire Oilfield Services acquires specialist aviation service company

Swire Oilfield Services, a provider of offshore containers and oilfield services, has acquired specialist aviation service company Gordon Engineering Services (GES).

The two companies will offer a combined end-to-end aviation service with the benefit of increased capabilities through the introduction of friction testing and custom-built helicopter refuelling systems, while bringing together over 150 years aviation experience. Phil Gordon, former owner and founder of GES will remain with the business as a manager supporting the aviation and fabrication division.

Phil Gordon commented on the announcement, “The last 23 years have been an incredible journey and I am extremely proud of the business the team and I have nurtured and developed. GES was established in 1995 by Phil Gordon and specialises in aviation services including design, manufacturing, inspection, maintenance, training and rental of helifuel systems for the global oil & gas industry.

The acquisition of GES comes as Swire Oilfield Services looks to expand aviation services across its North Sea and Global operations.
