Mitchell has crafted an entirely new menu for his new restaurant, focusing on a pre-theatre dining experience that offers high-quality food at more affordable prices.

Mitchell chose Union Terrace for its central location and scenic views, anticipating the rejuvenation of the city centre will attract locals and visitors to its vibrant atmosphere.

“Both the view and location are perfect,” Mitchell told Aberdeen Business News, “I’ve always thought it was a great spot when it was Pavarotti’s when I worked at Moonfish.”

Unlike Tarragon on Rosemount, which is known for its green-themed decor, Tarragon on the Terrace boasts an interior design of subtle pinks, greys, and blues.

This modern and stylish aesthetic complements the casual bistro vibe that Mitchell is aiming for, offering an intimate, laid-back dining experience.

Innovative Dining Experience

Mitchell’s plans to rotate his team between the two Tarragon locations, allowing staff to gain experience in different restaurant styles and ensuring that both venues maintain high standards of service and culinary excellence.

Despite the two restaurants being close to one another, Mitchell has invested in an electric scooter to travel efficiently between his two venues.

“The location is just three minutes door to door, so I’m pretty much my own competition now!” he added.

As Tarragon on the Terrace opens its doors, Mitchell hopes to see the restaurant “flooded” with customers ready to explore his new dining option of a fresh and affordable culinary experience in the heart of Aberdeen.
