An Aberdeen-based technology start-up has celebrated a successful first six months in business with a move to new office premises.

The TechForce, which provides cyber security, cloud computing and managed IT services for small and medium-sized businesses, is now based at Provender House, Waterloo Quay. The newly-renovated, harbour-side office provides room for expansion and will allow the business to build upon its recent achievements.

Managing director Jai Aenugu established The TechForce in January, less than a year after being named Entrepreneurial Supporter of the Year at the Elevator Awards 2016 in recognition of his dedication to helping other companies and organisations.

Since its launch, the business has secured several new clients across Aberdeen City and Shire, operating in the energy, recruitment and e-commerce sectors, with plans to expand into Dundee and Inverness later in the year.

Jai Aenugu said: “The first six months of the business have been a challenging but, ultimately, very rewarding experience. The level of demand for our services has been greater than we could have imagined; making this the ideal time to move to new premises.

“The office space at Waterloo Quay adds fresh impetus to the business and provides a solid platform for us to build upon our success to date. Given increased concern about cyber-security following several recent high-profile attacks, our focus on protecting businesses’ critical information and providing them with an on-demand disaster recovery service has been of strategic benefit and contributed to winning a number of important projects to date.”

Anna-Marie Eardley, managing director at Waterloo Quay Properties, said: “We’re extremely pleased to welcome Jai and The TechForce and look forward to supporting the business achieve its full potential in the months ahead.

“This further highlights our commitment to supporting start-up companies through our Quay Life programme and providing them with the opportunity to grow and collaborate with other like-minded business people in a modern working environment.”

The TechForce is the trusted technology partner for start-ups and SMEs and provides Ransomware protection services, cloud-based IT continuity solutions and IT support services.

The business is also continuing to support local entrepreneurs through its series of Meet the Entrepreneur events. Designed to inspire the next generation of start-ups, these are held in Aberdeen and feature talks with leading business figures who have launched and run their own successful companies.
