Banff, Aberdeenshire – Remember the joy of packing your favourite teddy, your jam sandwiches and your sense of adventure for a summer picnic? Now it’s your turn to share that magic with a new generation.
On Tuesday 6 August, from 12:30 to 2:30pm, Banff Castle’s beautiful orchard will host its very first Teddy Bears’ Picnic – a heartwarming afternoon of stories, surprises and timeless childhood fun for little ones and their cuddly companions.
Families are invited to bring a picnic blanket, their best-loved bear, and settle in for an unforgettable time outdoors. You can either bring your own picnic or pre-order tasty treats from the Castle Garden Café – perfect for a lazy summer afternoon.
In Case You Missed it:
Scottish storyteller Pauline Cordiner will be weaving her magical tales, delighting audiences young and old. And that’s just the beginning – there’ll be games to enjoy, little surprises to discover, and plenty of chances to play.
“We’re really looking forward to creating a magical time for children and families,” said Jo Edwards, a spokesperson for the Banff Castle Community Association. “It’s all about simple pleasures – stories, sunshine and a favourite bear. We have indoor plans in place if the weather decides today isn’t the day the teddy bears have their picnic. We hope it’s the start of something special.”
