ABERDEEN FC has unveiled a new-look for the 2024/25 season in the form of a ‘Wasp Kit’.

The Wasp Kit pays homage to a significant period in the club’s history and the design takes inspiration from the early days when the team was affectionately nicknamed “The Wasps” due to their distinctive black and gold striped shirts.

In a first for Aberdeen FC, and for Scottish football more generally, Aberdeen Women’s team players were on hand to launch the kit to symbolise a new era for ‘The Wasps’ at an exclusive event held at Boskalis offices in Westhill.

During the event it was revealed that Boskalis have also signed a 3-year contract extension to remain Principle Partner of AFC Women.

They will continue to feature on the front of the AFC Women’s shirts and have enhanced their deal to see their branding take prominence on the front of the Girls Academy playing kits.

Stuart Cameron, Managing Director of Boskalis, said: “Since 2019 when Boskalis became the first shirt sponsor of the Aberdeen Women’s team, we are delighted that the football operation and Boskalis’ business in the North Sea have both grown and developed side by side.

“It seemed appropriate as the football club launched its new away kit for 2024-25 at our offices, that we mark this by announcing a three year extension of our sponsorship.

We very much look forward to supporting (new manager) Colin Bell and the team in the next phase of our journey together.”

The new away kit is available to purchase now via afc.co.uk/shop or from the Pittodrie Club Shop from 9.30am on Wednesday 10th July.
