Charlie House’s growth and ambitious development plans led it to look for larger premises towards the end of last year.

Charlie House Chairperson, Tracy Johnstone, explains “Communicating with the children, families and supporters is very important to us and we reached the stage where the size of our office was constraining the number of visitors and meetings we could hold.”

“Our new office space with Thorpe Molloy accommodates a large open plan area where staff and volunteers can work together, but there is also private meeting space should families require privacy or discretion.”

“This new space means we can forge ahead with our 2020 strategic plan which focuses on 4 key themes:

Access to Information – our new website will be launched soon providing more support and information to children and their families.

Activities – in addition to our annual Activities Short Break we are expanding our Saturday Club and developing new clubs where families can enjoy new and exciting activities together.

Community Support Team – in partnership with NHS Grampian we are working to provide a team of nurses, support workers and a family liaison officer to give hands on practical and emotional support when families need it most.

And The Big Build Project is our long term plan to build a specialist care centre in the north-east, providing residential short breaks/respite care, support and therapy for children and their families.“

Karen Molloy, Director, Thorpe Molloy Recruitment, continues “I’m delighted that we are sharing our building with Charlie House. I’ve been an ambassador for the charity for several years now and it’s gratifying to know that our office space is able to facilitate its critical work in our community and its growth plans.”
