Safety charity Absafe says more than 3,600 school pupils and organisations have visited its education centre since it opened in November 2014, and 2,000 more are booked in.

The Safe is the first interactive safety education centre in the north-east of Scotland and is designed to teach people of all ages about safety and social issues in different environments. These include road safety, home safety, fire safety, anti-social behaviour and internet safety.
The charity reports that over 2,000 pupils, 695 community groups and 620 people from businesses across Aberdeen have taken part in education days at the venue since it opened. A further 2,000 school pupils are also booked in to take part in sessions in the fourth term of the school year.
Due to its success, Absafe has also doubled its workforce by recruiting three new members to its team in roles covering volunteering, office management and education.

The opening of The Safe marked a key milestone for us and we’re so pleased to see so many people across Aberdeen city and shire using the dedicated facility, with lots more set to visit in the new school term.
