Darren Ross, Director at Xcite Media Ltd comments, “The response to the Trades Awards this year has been overwhelming, with double the applications from last year, and three times the number of people registering to enter. It is not just the quantity of entries that has blown us away, but also the quality of those entries. The judges have had a tough time narrowing them down to the finalists. They are all a credit to the industry, which shows just a snapshot of the excellent work being done in the trades sector, and all are deserving of recognition for their hard work, talent and expertise. Unfortunately however, the judges cannot shortlist everybody.
“All of us here at the Trades Awards and Xcite Media, would like to thank each and every applicant for taking the time to show us why you are making such a difference within the trade community, and to members of the public.
“We’d also like to congratulate all shortlisted entrants. The competition is really close and we can’t wait to meet our finalists to find out a bit more about them, and of course, crown the winners!”
Neil Thomson, Construction Director of Stewart Milne Home says, “It is a real honour to be involved in this year’s Trades Awards which recognises and rewards tradesmen and trades businesses throughout the North East of Scotland. It is great to see the growth of this event making this year the biggest and potentially most exciting year since its launch in 2013. As a judge, it is a real privilege to be working alongside the other judges and there was a real sense of excitement as we poured over the many remarkable applications within each category. The North East of Scotland truly has many talented tradesmen and trades businesses”
For the first time since the Trades Awards launched in January 2013, finalists are now invited to a finalist’s lunch where they will meet the judges and discuss their applications in more detail. A site visit and interview will also be carried out for finalists within certain categories.
Winners will be announced at a lavish awards dinner and ceremony on Friday 12th June 2015 at Aberdeen Football Club.
The Trades Awards are organised and run by Xcite Media Ltd, the company behind The Scottish Home Show, The Scottish Kids Show and rated Scotland’s online rated tradesman directory TradesAdvisor.com.
