Two North East site managers are celebrating this week after both receiving a prestigious industry award from the National Home Building Council (NHBC).
CALA Homes’ Ross Black, site manager at the leading housebuilder’s Craibstone Estate development in Aberdeen, and Fred Anderson, from CALA at Grandhome in Bridge of Don, have both won a 2019 ‘Pride in the Job Quality Award’. This award is in recognition of their commitment to delivering high quality results and achieving the highest possible standards in the house building sector.

The award marks Fred’s second consecutive year winning the title at the CALA at Grandhome development, and his fifth in a row since joining the company, back in 2014.
The NHBC Pride in the Job awards recognise the industry’s best site managers, and celebrates the exceptional contribution site managers make in creating homes of outstanding quality. A Pride in the Job award is the highest industry accolade a site manager can achieve, and represents success for the site manager and their team.
Around 16,000 site managers across the UK were assessed this year, with only 450 winners selected, putting those awarded with the accolade amongst the industry’s top two per cent who produce the best quality new homes, built and finished to the highest possible standards.
Fred and Ross will both now go through to the next stage of the competition, the Seal of Excellence Awards, which will be announced on the 4 October 2019.

As well as undergoing spot checks of the day-to-day running of their site, each site manager is assessed across 37 different areas of site management, including technical knowledge, quality and consistency.
