Uber’s Head of Cities, Matthew Freckleton, had previously stated that the company would be looking to go “formally live” in Aberdeen “by the end of August”.
But it emerged last week that the launch had been put on ice due to do a legal case being pursued by a single taxi driver.
The Press & Journal reported that ACC was defending a statuatory appeal over its decision to grant Uber a licence.
However, it appears the challenge has since been dropped, allowing Uber to continue with plans to launch in the city.
It’s understood that a number of drivers have already been onboarded by the company and recruitment will now continue.
Given the timeline previously outlined by the firm, there are hopes it will be operational before Christmas.
