OFFSHORE Energies UK is spotlighting decommissioning trailblazers from across the UK’s energy sector as it announces its shortlist for the Decommissioning Conference awards in November.

The Excellence in Decommissioning Awards recognise companies that have performed to an exceptional level within the offshore decommissioning industry. The award criteria can cover any aspect including project execution, design, innovation, HSE, cost performance and contribution to the energy transition.

A total of six entries have been shortlisted for the awards which recognise operator and supply chain companies that are leading the way in how the UK industry approaches decommissioning projects. The finalists are:

Operator Category Finalists, sponsored by PDi Ltd (Project Development International Ltd)

  • Repsol Sinopec Resources UK Ltd
  • Spirit Energy
  • TAQA UK

Supply Chain Category Finalists, sponsored by the North Sea Transition Authority

  • DOF
  • Stork
  • Utility ROV Services Limited

Winners will be announced at a gala dinner, sponsored by Well Safe Solutions, that will take place at the Offshore Decommissioning Conference being held on November 20-23 in St Andrews.

Commenting on the announcements, OEUK’s HSE and Operations Director Mark Wilson, said:

“From an impressive list of submissions, these finalists reflect the great talent and expertise within the UK’s exciting and world-leading decommissioning industry – companies that exemplify the North Sea excellence this industry has become known for.

“I am delighted to see this recognition for their accomplishments, from initial design to project execution – as they drive industry towards its net zero goals and accelerate the UK’s transition to a low carbon and sustainable future.

“Decommissioning is an integral part of the lifespan of any offshore project and the awards are a great opportunity to celebrate the key role our companies and their people are playing in this innovative space. We look forward to welcoming guests to celebrate the sector’s achievements later this year.”
