The design includes three pavilions (on Union Street, Union Terrace and Rosemount Viaduct), a walkway from Union Street, landscaping and lighting, and the refurbishment of the Union Terrace arches.

Companies bidding for sub-contracts through the Balfour Beatty supply chain need to hold Constructionline Gold membership.

An overview of the Union Terrace Gardens project will be given and there will be opportunities for one-to-one discussions with Balfour Beatty’s Regional Head of Procurement for Scotland, Jim Brannan, and buyer Melissa Johnston.

Jim commented: “Balfour Beatty is honoured to be delivering this collaborative flagship project for Aberdeen City Council and we look forward to working with local businesses in the area.

“The transformation of Union Terrace Gardens will bring lasting social and environmental benefits to the Aberdeen community and by supporting employment in construction the project has already had a positive economic impact on the City Region.”

In recent years, Balfour Beatty has delivered a number of important infrastructure projects in Aberdeen, including the construction of Lochside Academy, the Third Don Crossing and improvement works at Aberdeen International Airport.

Meet the Buyer events bring businesses together with contracting organisations to share information about upcoming tendering opportunities and their procurement processes.

The event will take place in the Town and County Hall in the Town House, at 11.30am on Tuesday, 24 September. To register visit https://www.eventbrite.com/e/meet-the-buyer-balfour-beatty-tickets-72218293861
