THE UNIVERSITY of Aberdeen has been ranked 2nd across Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland for overall student satisfaction and 10th in the UK out of 120 universities in this year’s National Student Survey (NSS).

The NSS measures student satisfaction at UK universities across a broad range of areas related to their learning experience.

Out of 120 UK higher education institutions, the University is 1st in the UK for IT resources and facilities, 1st in the UK for giving students the opportunity to provide feedback on their courses, and in the top 10 in the UK across the areas of learning resources, academic support, organisation and management, and course teaching.

At a subject level, the university is 1st in the UK for Anatomy, Physiology and Pathology, Business Studies, History of Art, Architecture and Design, Linguistics, and Philosophy.

Welcoming the results, Vice-Principal (Education) Ruth Taylor said: “Coming on the heels of a strong performance in the Times Higher World University ranking, the Guardian, Times and Sunday Times rankings and the QS World University rankings, these results demonstrate our commitment to excellence in our education and delivering a great student experience.

“This is a brilliant achievement and demonstrates our continued focus on the student experience as a community of university colleagues.”
