Temporary lane restrictions are being implemented on the northbound and southbound carriageways on the A90 Aberdeen Western Peripheral Route/Balmedie-Tipperty (AWPR/B-T) trunk road between Cleanhill and Milltimber from Sunday 24 August for essential works.

An overnight convoy system will also be in operation between Cleanhill Roundabout and Milltimber Junction to enable surfacing refurbishment works to be undertaken. The works will commence at 2000hrs on Sunday 24 August and are expected to be completed by 0600hrs on Sunday 31 August.

The temporary lane restrictions during the day may cause possible delays, particularly at peak times. These restrictions are essential to give any new surfacing or remedial works time to cure. The overnight convoy system will slow traffic to provide a safer working environment for the site operatives.

Aberdeen Roads Limited are responsible for the operations and maintenance of the road and general manager Alex Davie said:

“These works are required to carry out essential refurbishment on the A90 AWPR. Due to the nature and specifications of the works, they cannot be started and finished within either a normal off-peak or an overnight period.

“With these temporary lane restrictions in mind, we would ask road users to drive with more caution than usual and to observe all signage and the temporary speed limit for their own safety, as well as for the safety of other road users and the construction workforce.

“We would like to thank road users and the local community for their patience and support during these works.”

Drivers are encouraged to check the Traffic Scotland website www.traffic.gov.scot for up-to-date travel information and allowing extra time for their journey. Details on the works can be found on the Aberdeen Roads Limited website www.aberdeenroads.com.
