OILFIELD technology inventor Ben van Bilderbeek has stepped down as chief executive of Plexus, the oil and gas engineering services business he launched in Aberdeen in 1985.

Plexus has announced that its 76-year-old founder is stepping down from his CEO position to take on the role of non-executive chairman.

Jeff Thrall, who has served as the company’s chairman since 2012, will continue his position on the board as a non-executive director.

Craig Hendrie, who has been a part of Plexus for over 25 years, including a 19-year tenure as the technical director, has been appointed as the new CEO of the company listed on the Alternative Investment Market.
