Viper Innovations appoints new managing director to drive growth

Edward Davies, new Viper Innovations managing director from June 1

SUBSEA technology and engineering company, Viper Innovations, has appointed a new managing director.

Edward Davies, who takes on the role from June 1, will be responsible for leading Viper’s growth plans to increase international sales in both the subsea oil & gas and railway industries.

The firm, which has an office in Aberdeen’s Bridge of Don area, was founded in 2007 by Neil Douglas and Max Fodder.

Edward, who will replace current managing director Neil Douglas, is a solicitor by background, he most recently acted as advisor to the founders of engineering company Adey from start up in 2003, before taking on the full time, executive position of chief operating officer in 2015.

Mr Douglas said:  “I am looking forward to working with Edward and ensuring that the transition is as smooth as possible.  I am sure that Edward will enjoy working in the business as much as I have done since the start of our journey and will continue to do so.  Edward brings a skill set which will certainly help us in the next phase of our journey.”

Neil and Max will both remain on the board of directors with Max also continuing in a business development role.

Edward said:  “I have known Viper’s founders for some time and had involvement with the business from the early days of its journey. Having followed its successes, I am delighted to be entrusted with leading the next phase of its growth, working alongside its founders and the talented and committed team they have developed.”
