Aberdeen has been introduced to a ‘neat’ new whisky experience thanks to Chop Grill & Bar on St Andrew Street.

The city’s first premium whisky lounge, located within Sandman Signature Aberdeen Hotel, offers whisky connoisseurs a new place to drink the water of life in the heart of Aberdeen city centre.

Named Freedom An’ Whisky, as an ode to the Scots bard Robert Burns, the new lounge is overseen by its very own ambassador, Cherry Faurie, who has been responsible for carefully selecting over 150 premium single malts sourced from Scotland’s top distilleries, including the likes of Macallan and Balvenie, as well as a variety of more than 30 gins.

Cherry, who is originally from The Philippines, brings her knowledge, experience of living on Islay and Jura and several whisky qualifications to the city, and offers guests the chance to hear the tales of some of the country’s finest malts whilst finding the right drink for their taste buds.

Cherry commented: “Just a couple of months following the launch of Chop Grill & Bar we are very excited to be introducing Freedom An’ Whisky to Aberdeen. With a great range of single malts and masterclasses available, this is a brand new and unique experience and venue for the city and I’m looking forward to sharing my expert knowledge with visitors from near and far.

“We want to ensure that our guests have the best, mouth-watering experience, whether they’re enjoying a whisky-based cocktail before dinner or a dram on the rocks before bed. It’s doesn’t have to be a serious drink so we’re welcoming all to come in, relax in our luxurious surroundings and get to know us.”
