ABERDEEN-based downhole sensing technology specialist, Well-SENSE, has been recognised by industry leaders at the Global OWI Awards, for its innovative FiberLine Intervention (FLI) technology.

The company received the ‘Most Impactful Technology’ award, in recognition of FLI’s contribution to the offshore well intervention industry, in an online ceremony held last week.

FiberLine Intervention is a new approach to gathering well data, employing single-use, bare fibre-optics for distributed temperature and acoustic sensing.

The fibre delivers immediate data as soon as it enters the well, demonstrating changing conditions as it is installed from surface to total depth.

FLI then provides a dynamic picture of the entire wellbore, from every point simultaneously, for the duration of the well survey.

Stuart Ferguson, Well-SENSE chief executive officer, said: “We’d like to thank the judging panel and awards team for recognising the game-changing benefits that FiberLine Intervention can deliver to the global market.

“Well-SENSE continues to innovate, in order to enhance the system’s capabilities and benefits, as we strive to ensure a productive and sustainable future for the industry.”
