Two individuals have been arrested following reports of a break-in and vandalism at the Aberdeenshire premises of Ultra Intelligence & Communications (Ultra I&C), a prominent defence technology firm. Police were called to the company’s facility on Prospect Road in Westhill on Sunday (August 9) at approximately 9:40 am. Police Scotland confirmed the arrest of two men, aged 39 and 18, with inquiries into the incident ongoing.

Ultra I&C, a division of the UK-headquartered Cobham Ultra Group, which is owned by private equity firm Advent International, plays a significant role in the global defence sector. The company specialises in mission-critical multi-domain communications, command and control, and cyber security technologies. According to its website, Ultra I&C “delivers crypto solutions, mission software and tactical communications built to keep operations moving”. Its client base includes defence forces and allied governments internationally, notably the U.S. Department of Defense, the UK Ministry of Defence, and the Canadian Department of National Defence.
Footage circulated on social media, purportedly from activists, appeared to show damage to the building and Palestine flags displayed at its windows. The campaign group “People Against Genocide” claimed responsibility for the action, asserting that Ultra I&C supplies Elbit Systems, described by the group as a major Israeli military contractor.
Police Scotland has stated that their investigations into the break-in and vandalism are continuing. The company has been contacted for comment.
