Adaptive Surveys, based in Westhill, Aberdeenshire, has seen the business grow to be one of the biggest in the North East of Scotland. Four new team members have joined the ranks, with three surveyors now heading up the company’s new office in Glasgow.
With this new location in the Central Belt, Founder Jamie Watt is hoping to expand to be an industry leader for the whole of Scotland:

Onwards and upwards
Since the beginning of 2025, the team has nearly doubled in size, providing an expert in- house offering to clients. Recently, Adaptive launched their brand new service Resi+, a streamlined, cost-effective measured building survey for architects operating in the residential sector.
This is a new avenue for Adaptive, with previous work being undertaken for clients such as local authorities, health boards, architects and civil and structural engineering firms. With Resi+, Adaptive are branching out, aiming to be the go to surveyor in Scotland for all sectors.
Increasing global reach
Recent projects have taken the team further afield, with work in the Brunsbuttel Port in Germany as well as the rest of the UK. In the last year, the team have been very busy carrying out a large utility survey as part of the Brae campus redevelopment in Shetland, a pro-bono survey for The Friends of Craigellachie Bridge which provided them with the data needed to restore the 200+ year old bridge, a top to toe survey of the Trinity centre in Aberdeen providing a virtual walk through tour for potential tenants, and several full service surveys (including drone, laser scanning, Revit modelling, bathymetric and utility surveys) for distilleries such as Jura and Glenfiddich. The team have also carried out topographic and utility surveys for various projects in North Somerset and North Wales as well as laser scanning and 3D modelling in Northern Ireland.
What’s next for Adaptive?
Founder Jamie Watt has a positive outlook for the rest of 2025.
