WHSMITH’S Bookshop will reopen at Aberdeen International Airport after being closed for almost 18 months due to the pandemic.

Popular with passengers looking for a good book to accompany them on their travels, the store will reopen on September 2 after being opened as part of the airport’s £20 million Terminal Transformation in 2018.

The store offers a wide range of books, including airport exclusive editions, trade and specialist titles, giving customers a wide choice of reading materials to take on their flight.

The reopening is another in the list of outlets that are welcoming back passengers at Aberdeen International Airport.

WHSmith has traded their airside main store throughout the pandemic with the landside arrivals store reopening in May this year. WHSmith also now operate the airside Costa unit under franchise.

WHSmith, like other retail partners, are operating with continued safety measures in-store so passengers can visit safely.

The safety of our passengers and people is our number one priority and Aberdeen International Airport was recognised for good practice from an international Covid-safety audit from the UK Civil Aviation Authority and health experts from Public Health England and Scotland.

Jemma Cumming, commercial manager at Aberdeen International Airport, said: “We know the WHSmith Bookshop is very popular with our passengers.

“We have been continuously working with our business partners and I’m delighted to see this store reopening at our airport.

“This allows us to offer passengers more choice throughout our airport while maintaining their safety.

“We want to thank everyone of our business partners for their hard work and dedication during this difficult period for aviation.”

Opened stores at Aberdeen International Airport now include;

  • World Duty Free
  • WHSmith
  • Boots
  • Distilling House
  • Northern Lights Lounge
