The winners of the eight annual Decom Mission Awards, sponsored by AquaTerra Group, were announced last week at a ceremony which rounded off the trade organisation’s Decom Week.

The Awards, which were established by Decom Mission to champion success across various areas in decommissioning, focused on Sustainability, Innovation and the Emerging Professionals who excel in the industry. The long-standing category of “Decom Mission Member” acknowledged outstanding achievement from within the organisation’s international membership.

Sam Long, Decom Mission CEO, commented: “Sincere congratulations and kudos to our category winners – your commitment to a sustainable decommissioning industry across the global energy sector is deservedly applauded.”

The winners of the Decom Mission Awards 2025 are:

Innovation in Decommissioning: NEBA Analytics LLC is recognised for its work to increase the adoption of Net Environment Benefit Analysis in offshore decommissioning, working with various industry bodies and regulators around the world to maximise ecosystem service benefits while managing site risks and costs considering environmental, social, health & safety, and economic criteria.

Emerging Professional in Decommissioning, sponsored by CNRI: Currently the Decommissioning Manager for ABLE, 25 year old Luke Donnelley has been recognised for his outstanding performance and commitment to major decommissions projects over the past seven years, including his involvement with the prestigious Shell Brent Decommissioning Project.

Sustainability, sponsored by Specialist Equipment Solutions (SES): EMR. A sustainable, circular supply chain for decommissioned wind turbines in Scotland moved one step closer in 2024, thanks to the opening of EMR’s new Wind Turbine Processing Centre in Glasgow – a state-of-the-art decommissioning hub for renewable power assets. By providing an at-scale, sustainable way to process decommissioned wind turbines, EMR is enabling asset owners to speed up the transition, bringing the UK closer to its net zero targets.

Decom Mission Member Award, sponsored by the North Sea Transition Authority:  Over the past year, Subsea7 has made significant strides in decommissioning, showcasing its commitment to innovation, efficiency, and environmental responsibility. Successful decommissioning projects for global operator clients demonstrate Subsea7’s ability to deliver tailored solutions worldwide.
