ABERDEEN’s Lord Provost Barney Crockett was given a glimpse into the workplace of the future when he visited neospace, the city’s newest flexible workspace.
The first of its kind in the UK, neospace embraces the new way of hybrid working both at home and in the office, with a work, rest and play concept and a membership model.

The luxurious, multi-functional space recently opened on Riverside Drive following a £18million investment by co-founders Baroness Michelle Mone and her husband Doug Barrowman.
The Lord Provost was given a tour of the facilities at neospace, which offers 78 tech-led private offices, 20 coworking flexi-pods and nine meeting rooms, as well as lounges, break-out areas,barrista bar and café.
He even took the opportunity to try out the on-site leisure facilities, including a gym with LES MILLS classes, Skillbike studio, and practised his swing on the Trackman golf simulator!
The Lord Provost warmly welcomed the arrival of neospace in Aberdeen.
“I was very pleased to visit neospace and was impressed by the facilities, which can accommodate many different kinds and sizes of businesses, leading to a varied and diverse workspace,” he said.
“The concept of a flexible workspace in today’s modern and post-Covid world is an interesting one, with many companies deciding to adopt a flexible and hybrid approach to office working and encouraging hotdesking.
“It is fantastic for Aberdeen that neospace has chosen our city to host the very first workspace of its kind in the UK and I am sure other cities will be watching with interest as we all start to move back into offices and travel again for work as restrictions ease.”
The Lord Provost was met by Ian Minor, chief operating officer at neospace, and operations manager Kerry Sutherland.
Ian said: “We are grateful to the Lord Provost for taking the time to visit our new space and meet some of the businesses that have already signed up to become part of the community at neospace.
“He was very interested in the concept of offering a third space for businesses, which is not home or the office but a flexible space for meeting, working, hotdesking, collaborating and networking.
“The future of the workspace is changing and we are pleased to be in Aberdeen and welcoming local businesses on this journey.”
