{"id":2505303,"date":"2020-08-03T09:12:58","date_gmt":"2020-08-03T08:12:58","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/aberdeenbusinessnews.co.uk\/?p=2505303"},"modified":"2020-08-03T09:12:58","modified_gmt":"2020-08-03T08:12:58","slug":"ey-adds-to-its-growing-tax-team-in-aberdeen","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/aberdeenbusinessnews.co.uk\/ey-adds-to-its-growing-tax-team-in-aberdeen\/","title":{"rendered":"EY adds to its growing tax team in Aberdeen"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>TWO senior tax professionals have joined the Scottish tax team at EY.<\/p>\n<p>Moray Barber, who takes on the role of tax partner, will be based in Aberdeen and primarily serve the energy sector.<\/p>\n<p>Moray has more than 20 years of experience supporting clients with complex tax issues across a diverse range of sectors, predominantly oil and gas.<\/p>\n<p>Moray\u2019s appointment follows that of Duncan Reoch as Associate Partner who joined in March to lead the Scotland Private Client team.<\/p>\n<p>Duncan manages the team across offices based in Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Inverness providing both personal and corporate tax services to both individuals and privately-owned businesses.<\/p>\n<p>Derek Leith, EY\u2019s managing partner in Aberdeen, said: \u201cThe appointment of Moray and Duncan to EY\u2019s tax practice is a boost for our clients based in the north east and Scotland-wide.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is fantastic to have not one but two tax professionals of such a high calibre as Moray and Duncan join EY in quick succession.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn the north-east many businesses work within the oil and gas sector and have the additional considerations of navigating the current low oil price environment while also seeking to capitalise on the opportunities offered by energy transition.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur team is committed and invested in the success of our clients and we are dedicated in the provision of long-term value to clients as they pursue their growth ambitions in the domestic market and further afield.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Aberdeen appointments come a few months after EY announced its move to 2 Marischal Square as part of the firm\u2019s continued investment in the city.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>TWO senior tax professionals have joined the Scottish tax team at EY.
