It will also be a focal point for international partnerships and investor engagement.<\/p>\n<p>The start of work on the BDP-designed facility had been delayed to Covid-19.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 12.0pt 0cm 12.0pt 0cm;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12.0pt; font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif; color: black;\">Christoph Ackermann, BDP\u2019s Glasgow studio principal, said: <\/span><span style=\"font-size: 12.0pt; font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif; color: black;\">\u201cThis is an exciting and transformational project for Aberdeen and north-east Scotland. The BioHub project is another example of BDP\u2019s expertise in this style of development, creating office and laboratory spaces for start-up companies under a single roof.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; margin: 12.0pt 0cm 12.0pt 0cm;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12.0pt; font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif; color: black;\">The project, led by Opportunity North East (ONE), has secured \u00a320 million of capital funding jointly provided by the UK Government and Scottish Government via the Aberdeen City Region Deal (ACRD). ONE has committed up to \u00a35.6 million to deliver BioHub&#8217;s sector growth objectives and has formed a new company, BioAberdeen Limited, to deliver BioHub.
