ABERDEEN-based Wood Group has secured a $250 million (\u00a3197million) contract extension from Shell and the government of Brunei.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The oilfield services and engineering consultancy said the two-year deal would focus on \u201cthe continued rejuvenation\u201d of the top 20 offshore energy assets owned by Brunei Shell Petroleum to maximise production and efficiency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Brunei Shell Petroleum (BSP) is a 50-50 joint venture between Shell, the FTSE 100 oil major, and the government of Brunei. The company is the largest oil and gas producer in Brunei.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Wood reported profits of \u00a3300million last year and employs more than 35,000 people worldwide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Wood said the contract extension to February 2026 included \u201cbrownfield engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning services as well as the management of its offshore marine fleet\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Ken Gilmartin, CEO at Wood, said: \u201cWood is pleased to continue supporting BSP\u2019s offshore assets in the next phase of its rejuvenation project to upgrade core assets, which account for around 80% of BSP\u2019s production, making this work critically important to the company.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
