The last chance to be part of the Executive Springboard pilot programme is drawing close as Aberdeen & Grampian Chamber of Commerce looks for recruits for the third and final cohort.<\/u><\/u><\/p>\n
A small number of places remain on the fully-funded initiative which aims to support middle and senior managers who have been made redundant from the oil and gas industry to transition into finding new employment in other industry sectors.\u00a0<\/u><\/u><\/p>\n
Experienced senior managers and executives who made up the first and second cohort covered a broad spectrum of ages, background, aspirations and priorities; and covered a range of roles within the oil and gas industry including logistics, finance, account management and operations.\u00a0<\/u><\/u><\/p>\n
Liam Smyth, deputy chief executive of Aberdeen & Grampian Chamber of Commerce, said: \u201cThe feedback from candidates who have already joined the programme has been extremely positive. The Executive Springboard has provided a step in the right direction through practical training, constructive advice and tangible opportunities.<\/u><\/u><\/p>\n
\u201cIt is for good reason that the scheme puts emphasis on transitioning into new employment through building networks, creating personal capital through the use of social media and developing new skills to improve their success rate in getting to interview. Across the cohort of candidates that have taken part in the programme so far, they had applied for 818 jobs resulting in just 37 invitations to interview. The purpose of the programme is to support these experienced individuals in broadening their approach and finding new pathways back into employment.\u201d<\/u><\/u><\/p>\n
