{"id":64357,"date":"2018-08-09T16:37:24","date_gmt":"2018-08-09T15:37:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/aberdeen.sbnn.co.uk\/2018\/08\/09\/scottish-property-firm-appoints-md-for-the-north\/"},"modified":"2018-08-14T16:47:08","modified_gmt":"2018-08-14T15:47:08","slug":"scottish-property-firm-appoints-md-for-the-north","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/aberdeenbusinessnews.co.uk\/scottish-property-firm-appoints-md-for-the-north\/","title":{"rendered":"Scottish property firm appoints MD for the North"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A Scottish property management company has promoted a shareholding director to managing director for the North region to support a \u00a31million investment in the North of Scotland over the next three years.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The restructure of Newton Property Management has seen current director, Ross Watt, who is based in the Aberdeen office, move into the position of managing director Newton North Scotland.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">[adbutler zone_id=&#8217;297765&#8242;]<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">With offices in Glasgow, Aberdeen and Inverness, Newton currently has 45 members of staff and manages\u00a020,500 factored and 600 leased units across the whole of Scotland with its national coverage span as far north as\u00a0Tain\u00a0and as far south as Gretna Green.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mr Watt joined Newton in 2016 when his business, Watt and Co Property Management, merged with Newton in a six-figure deal, which saw him become a shareholding director and board member of the overall Scottish property company.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Based in Aberdeen\u2019s Rosemount Place, Mr Watt will manage the Newton team across both the Aberdeen and Inverness offices while remaining to report to the company\u2019s overall management team.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">He said: \u201cI\u2019ve been a key part of the Newton management team since the merger two years ago and it\u2019s been an exciting journey to date, so I am now very much looking forward to further developing the business in Aberdeen and Inverness following the acquisition of Allied Souter and Jaffrey in November last year.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cWe have set aside an additional \u00a31million of investment for the north of Scotland which will allow us to continue on the acquisition trail, whilst increasing our team in the North and upgrading our premises and software. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The management restructure also includes the appointment of Derek Rudkin as local director of North Scotland for the company. \u00a0Based in the Inverness office, Mr Rudkin moved from Allied, Souter &amp; Jaffrey following the acquisition and has supported the company\u2019s growth in Inverness, Elgin, Dingwall, Fort William and across the Highlands. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Derek Macdonald, joint managing director, of Newton Property Management said: \u201cIn the past seven years, Newton has purchased around one factor business per annum through reinvested profit and our latest acquisition in Inverness has proved a great success. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cHaving both Ross and Derek at the forefront of our growth plans for the North places us in a very strong position to realise the true potential we see in the North-east and Highlands. \u00a0We are intent on growing not only Aberdeen and Inverness, but also across smaller towns across these areas.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mr Watt and Mr Rudkin will work closely together to deliver Newton\u2019s ambitious growth plans for the north of Scotland.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>[yikes-mailchimp form=&#8221;2&#8243; title=&#8221;1&#8243; description=&#8221;1&#8243;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A Scottish property management company has promoted a shareholding director to managing director for the North region to support a \u00a31million investment in the North of Scotland over the next three years.
