The tank has a capacity of 4000m<sup>3<\/sup>, almost the equivalent of two Olympic swimming pools, and it is one of the largest and newest in Aberdeen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The tank\u2019s location at Torry Marine Base, core quayside for a number of operators, meant they can now have easy access to fuel to streamline their vessel turnaround times.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Chris Coull, Director, Peterson said: \u201cWe are pleased by the addition of this new tank, which brings us closer to our ambition of providing reliable fuel supply to every berth we operate, to our customers around Aberdeen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe see Aberdeen Harbour as the long term supply hub for the North Sea and view this as a valuable investment to support the required efficiencies of the modern energy industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cFuel remains a part of our overall integrated offering and we are constantly looking for ways to serve our clients more efficiently, bringing the fuel closer to where they are.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The new tank was built in a&nbsp;purpose-built production facility&nbsp;in Rotterdam and shipped to the city for installation, in order to minimise disruption at busy quayside.&nbsp;The tank complies with the latest storage tank standard BS EN 14015 and it has also been internally coated for further protection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This tank\u2019s installation, in addition to the new 1500m<sup>3<\/sup>&nbsp;tank which has been recently installed in the south side of North Harbour, brings Peterson\u2019s MGO capacity in Aberdeen to 11,000m<sup>3<\/sup>.
