THE North East’s largest and longest-running wedding show, Your Wedding Exhibition, is set to showcase the latest wedding trends for a new era of wedding ceremony when it returns to Aberdeen’s P&J Live on Saturday 21st & Sunday 22nd January 2023.

The show, owned and organised by four directors, Simon M Morgan, Fiona Morgan, Brian Rae and Alan Rae, is now in its 26th year, and will welcome over 170 exhibitors from every facet of the wedding industry. Many of these will be unveiling new trends which have emerged post-pandemic, changing the face of weddings as we knew them with fresh and modern twists.

Simon M Morgan, said: “Many brides and grooms chose to postpone their nuptials until any remaining covid restrictions had been lifted, which naturally meant that there has been a boom in demand for venues, dresses, kilt hire, cakes and everything else that comes hand-in-hand with the big day during summer 2022, and well into 2023 and 2024.”

“As weddings returned, we have seen a shift in trends, with many more weddings taking place outdoors and in unconventional venues. More intimate guestlists, elopements and hybrid ceremonies with some guests watching via live-streaming have continued to feature, while sustainable wedding favours and wild, natural floral displays are continuing to prove popular.”

“We are proud to host a range of well-known and up-and-coming suppliers at Your Wedding Exhibition, who every year come with new and exciting trends in the ever-changing wedding industry. Catering for everything from the extravagant to the humbler budget, every exhibitor has something exciting to showcase.”

Angharad Rodgers, owner of Angharad Bridal in Elgin, is one of 10 exhibitors taking part in the Your Wedding Exhibition’s twice daily fashion show. She hints at what trends we might see in 2023:

“We are beginning to see an emergence of a much more relaxed and floatier fit in terms of dresses, with lots of lace and button detailing. Brides are keen to be able to move and dance freely, and with us seeing more weddings outdoors, on the beach and in more unusual locations, it’s a natural progression. We’re also seeing a resurgence in beautiful full-length cathedral veils, that perfectly provide that soft and romantic style.”
